Your Negotiating Team announced last week that we have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement with Allegiant Air. We believe this is an outstanding package of wage increases, first-time benefits, and across-the-board improvements in a host of areas that will put more money in everyone’s pockets. In addition, we negotiated enhanced work rules and increased job protections that will benefit all Union Members.

We will publish a ratification package that will include a full description of the contents of the tentative agreement in its entirety on Friday December 1st. We have scheduled meetings on December 5th at 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. (Local Time) in Orlando and on December 12th at 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. (Local Time) in Las Vegas. These meetings are planned to coincide with holiday parties, since many members will be in attendance. Additional Negotiating Team visits at every base and conference calls are also scheduled, which will give all Allegiant Flight Attendants the opportunity to cast an educated vote.

We will also hold an electronically conducted, membership ratification vote through an independent voting service beginning December 14th and concluding on December 21st.

It’s been a long journey, but your Committee is proud to announce that all the detours and other issues are behind us, and we are ready to move ahead as a strong, united workforce with a real future, for real careers in the airline industry.

Here are a few examples of what we achieved:

  • A five-year agreement, which is standard for union agreements currently being negotiated throughout the airline industry
  • Date of signing (DOS) raises that provide all Allegiant Air Flight Attendants wages in line with those in comparable, low-cost airlines. Additionally, there are raises that result in a 16-33% increase over the life of the agreement.
  • Other important improvements include: sick time accrual, part-time enhancements, vacation grants, per diem, delay pay, reserve enhancements, and full due process in a grievance and arbitration procedure.

We could not have accomplished this without the support of our International Union, especially our new International President John Samuelsen, who put the full weight of the national TWU and the entire labor movement behind us.

We are confident that after you review this agreement, you will agree that it is a major step forward in earning power and job security for all Allegiant Flight Attendants and that you will vote YES.

Thank you, we look forward to seeing you at an upcoming contract meeting.
