At the Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO (TWU) Convention two weeks ago, convention delegates unanimously adopted a resolution of support to achieve a fair contract for Allegiant Air Flight Attendants. On Sunday, that effort was launched with a full-page ad in the Las Vegas Review Journal. If you have not yet seen the ad please take a look at it and read the message from TWU International President John Samuelsen. In his message, President Samuelsen asks, “Are you ready to join us?” Please take the opportunity to join us by sharing the link and/or graphic on your social media platforms with the hashtags #StopAllegiantGreed, @Allegiant, and #transportworker.
We also need all Members to sign this petition that encourages Maury Gallagher to work with TWU Local 577 to produce the contractual protections you deserve. We have notified the National Mediation Board (NMB) and Allegiant that we are prepared to meet anywhere, anytime for as long as it takes to reach a fair contract, but the next meetings they have scheduled for us are not until November 14th-16th. Please send a message to Maury that it is time to stop hiding behind the NMB, return to the table, and negotiate in good faith.
Finally, as the final Flight Attendant Appreciation Days approach, please attend your local meeting, and be sure to wear your TWU button to remind Tracy that the only real way to show appreciation for our hard working Flight Attendants is with a fair contract. Let us know if you are attending and need a button.
Our campaign is just beginning, so please stay tuned and informed for our next actions!
